A Friend’s Getaway
Are you looking for a NEW place to scrapbook or quilt? A Friend’s Getaway is the place for you! This country retreat was newly established in April 2010, by 3 women who have the passion for scrapbooking, quilting and other crafts. We are located 1 mile from Dent, MN on 2.87 acres; the house has 3600 square feet of a relaxing but energetic atmosphere. A Friend’s Getaway was established to provide a safe and inviting getaway, a home away from home, for people to gather, relax, and create friendships to last a lifetime.
The house has 4 large bedrooms, 3 full baths, a kitchen, dining room and large craft room with ergonomic chairs and a 9 foot L-shaped work area for each crafter. There is a living room area in the lower level for some down time, watching TV, playing board games, or reading a good book. The kitchen and the bathrooms are fully supplied and all the linens are provided for you. All you need to bring is your personal items, your crafting supplies and some good friends!! This country retreat will accommodate 10 friends comfortably with each having their own twin bed, no bunk beds. This retreat was created with crafters in our heart! The dining room is set up with an island that houses a Cricut Expression and an Original Cricut with many cartridges for you to use. There is a table full of the Creative Memories cutting system and all the Creative Memories punches, a Xyron, a Sizzix machine and many items from Stampin’ Up to be used by the crafters. There is wireless internet access throughout the house as well as a computer and printer set up for your use.
There is a large deck off of the craft room which will allow you to watch wildlife or just enjoy some good clean country air. We are not located on a lake, but there are many lakes within a few miles of A Friend’s Getaway.
This retreat house could be used for other things than just scrapbooking or crafting. We will accommodate family reunions, special occasions, or families that just want a weekend or week away from the city to spend time in the country, fish in the area lakes, go on nature walks or just relax reading a book and playing board games.
Our guests are not considered guests but “Friends.” We had a dream to create the perfect place for women to be able to relax, laugh, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Not just for them but also for their families as well; because that is what scrapbooking is all about, creating memories and preserving the past memories one page at a time.
